Sustainability strategies, the mobility of the future and the challenges of balancing environmental protection and economic growth will be some of the key points discussed by Robert Habeck, Chairman of Germany’s Bündnis 90/Die Grünen party, and Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG, and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars on during their talk on Thursday September 12, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm live on stage at the me Convention in Hall 1 at the Messe Frankfurt, during the IAA Motor Show.
Politicians, manufacturers and businesses are all currently facing the enormous challenge of working towards the agree-upon climate goals. Are sustainability strategies, such as Daimler’s “Ambition 2039” and political initiatives regarding these shared goals sufficient, or are additional measures required? The social debate about how to combine sustainability and economic prosperity also directly relates to the question of how politicians and manufacturers can better collaborate to combat climate change. On a global level, there are also discussions about how the situation in Germany compares to other major markets, such as China, the United States and other European countries. These and many other issues will be discussed by Robert Habeck and Ola Källenius during their conversation at the me Convention.
This future-focused conference is a special collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and South by Southwest (SXSW). During the IAA in Frankfurt from 11 to 13 September, the event will bring together creatives and thought-leaders from a variety of backgrounds to discuss and develop new ideas around the topics of Science, Business, Society and the Planet.
