The DTM staged races 13 and 14 this weekend in front of 66,000 spectators at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Mercedes-Benz head the DTM drivers’ and the team standings after seven of nine race weekends this season.

Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein (gooix Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) extended his lead in the overall standings with a P5 in the second race. He is now on 140 points, 14 points up on Swedish driver Mattias Ekström (Audi). gooix/Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG lead the team rankings with a total of 196 points.

Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) in sixth place finished in the points. Fellow Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Gary Paffett (EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) crossed the line in P13. Daniel Juncadella (PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM), Robert Wickens (SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) and Maximilian Götz (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) booked positions 15, 16 and 18 respectively. Lucas Auer (BWT Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) had to retire shortly before the end of the race but was ranked 17th. Christian Vietoris (Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) took the chequered flag in P21.

The next race weekend: The penultimate race weekend of the 2015 DTM season will be staged September 25th-27th at the Nürburgring.

Pascal Wehrlein: “My start was okay until the first turn, but then I was on the outside and would perhaps have been spun, if I’d not left the door open. That’s why I lost a position there. On the whole, I thought that we might perhaps be a bit stronger in the race, but it was only enough for fifth place in the end. Still, I can be pleased with my position in the overall standings.”
