Just a few weeks into series production of the new Setra ComfortClass 500 and a special milestone has already been reached.
Di Fonzo, an Italian bus company, has taken delivery of a S 515 HD at the Daimler brand’s Customer Centre in Neu-Ulm – the 80th Setra bus to join its fleet! Painted in the operator’s black livery, the vehicle is the second from the new, sixth Setra model series to enter into service for the company headquartered in Vasto, a town on the Adriatic coast.
This bus from Setra’s innovative new generation of touring coaches fulfils two purposes for Di Fonzo: the two-axle vehicle equipped with 49 comfortable seats will be operated on European routes, as well as on interregional services between Vasto in southern Abruzzo and Italy’s capital, Rome. Part of the region of Latium, the Eternal City is 270 kilometres from Vasto. Alfonso Di Fonzo, executive vice-president of the bus company, outlined the benefits of their new acquisition when the S 515 HD was officially handed over: “For us, this Setra coach is the best vehicle currently on the market. It impresses us and our passengers with its reliability, styling and the many safety features that the ComfortClass 500 has onboard.” The extensive EvoBus service network was also a critical factor in the management team’s decision-making prior to the purchase. The Italian company itself operates an OMNIplus service location in the Abruzzo region (OMNIplus being the EvoBus service mark).
