With the addition of an S 415 GT‑HD coach to its fleet, Slovenian tour operator “Street Tour” has acquired a very special vehicle. The Setra ComfortClass 400 touring coach is the 50th new vehicle since 1998 to be supplied to this Central European country by Daimler Buses’ Ulm-based brand.

As well as the coach that marked this special milestone, the company, based in the Slovenian city of Portorož, took delivery of a second S 415 GT‑HD at the Setra CustomerCenter in Neu-Ulm. For both managing directors of Street Tour, Ms Cita Oset and Mr Srecko Krusic, it was not only the quality of the Ulm-built buses that influenced their purchasing decision, but also the reputation of the Setra name in their country. “For many of our customers it’s a matter of prestige that they should undertake their journey in a Setra coach.”

Street Tour – all over Europe with nine Setra touring coaches
The tour operator, which is based near Slovenia’s border with Italy, has been doing business with the Ulm brand since 2006 and now has nine Setra buses in its fleet. Along with seven ComfortClass 400 vehicles, the Street Tour fleet includes two models from the latest Setra TopClass 400 range – an S 411 HD and a double-decker S 431 DT.

The Slovenian company employs more than 40 people as drivers, as well as in its company-owned travel agency, in logistics and service. Street Tour specialises in providing coach tours of varying lengths throughout Europe for foreign tourists.

The two S 415 GT-HD coaches each seat 51 passengers. The vehicles offer all modern comforts and are fitted with all the latest safety features for buses and coaches. These incude the Front Collision Guard (FCG), which meets the European standard for the underride guard in accordance with ECE-R 93, as well as the pendulum impact test standard ECE-R 29 used to measure the rigidity of a vehicle’s structure. In the event of a front-end collision, the FCG module, with its integrated impact-absorbing structure, pushes the driver area towards the rear of the vehicle.

Further technical refinements: the new Setra ComfortClass 400
The new Setra ComfortClass 400 range was launched last year at the European specialist trade fair “Busworld” in Kortrijk, Belgium. The development team, working closely with the design, production, after sales and sales departments, has introduced more than 30 new features to create commercially attractive coaches for use by both tour operators and occasional service operators. An updated design treatment of the front corner elements give the vehicles a fresh new look, which is complemented by a range of technical improvements and a significantly enhanced package of safety features.
