Around 650 guests from around the world, saw yesterdays presentation of new Mercedes GP Petronas team at the Mercedes-Benz Museum. We also celebrating locally the return of the “Silver Arrows”.
The approximately 20-minute presentation was simple and impressive. Presenter through the show, which began with the welcome speech by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, was Verena Wriedt. After the presentation of the team management Ross Brawn (Team principal Mercedes GP) Norbert Haug (Vice president Mercedes-Benz Motorsport) and Nick Fry (CEO Mercedes GP Petronas), comes the long awaited moment.
Under loud applause rolled four trainees from the plants Untertürkheim and Sindelfingen – followed by the pilots Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg – the silver arrow on the ‘Carwalk’.
After the presentation we took the chance to come so close to a real Formula-1 racing car – even if it is the 2009 Brawn GP – and look a little more detailed to the silver arrow.
On the stage we noted that a F1 – with around 620 kilograms – is quite a lightweight. Effortlessly, we were able to move the car a little bit for- and backward. Below some more pictures from the presentation:
