The Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas will be title sponsor of the new Mercedes Grand Prix F1-Team and will go to the start of the 2010 season as “Mercedes GP Petronas”, Mercedes announced today.
“We are very pleased to begin our long-term partnership with our new title partner PETRONAS. Daimler, our premium brand Mercedes-Benz and Petronas will work together both on and off the track and I am sure that everybody involved will guarantee their absolute dedication to success,” said Mercedes GP chief Norbert Haug.
The new Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team’s race car will make the track debut at Valencia on 1 February to the pre-season testing. Petronas remains the title sponsor of the Grand Prix of Malaysia, which will be hold at the Sepang International Circuit on 4 April 2010 as the third race of the new season.
