Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd, the South Korean manufacturer of freight and container ships, has opted for the top-class ride comfort of the Setra S 411 HD. The silver-painted Setra coach is being put to use to provide a ride experience in a class of its own not only for visitors touring the company’s plant site in Geoje or on sightseeing trips to ship christening ceremonies, but also for the company’s business partners on their five-hour transfers to and from Seoul airport.
According to Holger Suffel, Sales Director for EvoBus GmbH: “This order clearly shows that globally Setra is living up to the claim of its “Best in Class” positioning, as even with a length of just over 10 metres this Setra model is able to provide passengers with the very best in ride comfort. The fact that Samsung has once again opted to use our most compact Setra coach for its visits by VIP’s also demonstrates the level of satisfaction and trust which our customers have in our products and services”.
After purchases in 1995 and 2000, the new S 411 HD is already the fourth vehicle from the Ulm coach brand belonging to Daimler Buses which Samsung has had fitted out to an exclusive VIP specification and is using for customer care services. The front part of the coach, which is fitted with a level floor, features four pivoting first-class leather seats enabling passengers to enjoy a high degree of seating and even lying comfort. In terms of their specification and finish, the seats are comparable to those used on long-haul flights. In the rear of the bus, travellers can sit together in comfort as a group thanks to seven beige-coloured leather seats. This conference area is surrounded by built-in cupboards made of valuable apple wood veneer. There is also a small integrated bar with refreshment beverages. The entire cockpit area of the vehicle, which is also fitted with a panoramic camera, is finished in high-quality alcantara leather. A modern multimedia system, meanwhile, featuring a satellite antenna and 19-inch monitors, caters for a variety of entertainment and information needs.
A powerful 39 kW roof-mounted air-conditioning system helps to ensure that the interior of the coach is comfortable at all times by guaranteeing the necessary relief from the often extremely high outside temperatures and humidity.
With the S 411 HD, the corporation, which has a workforce of 25000 employees, is able to provide its business partners and guests not only with the ultimate in terms of comfort but also a high level of safety. With a length of 10.16 metres, this “smallest” member of the new TopClass 400 family is also fitted with a variety of safety systems, among other features, including Front Collision Guard (FCG), adaptive cruise control (ART) with Active Brake Assist (ABA) and Lane-Keeping Assist (SPA).
