Rumors shows, that Mercedes will dissolve the most of its 40 percent stake in McLaren and enters with 75 percent for Brawn GP The plan: more rights inside the new Formula 1-Team and lower costs.

The problem for Mercedes is: By 2011, the manufacturer is, according to a report by the magazine “Auto Motor und Sport”, contractually bound to the team from Woking. When the separation from McLaren is accomplished the name “Brawn GP” will disappear sooner or later and Mercedes will be presented as the team name, so the report.

If the boss of McLaren, Ron Dennis, insist on the fulfillment of the contract, the Aabar Investment from Abu Dhabi – which Mercedes shareholder is – would probably enter at Brawn GP. Later, when the contract between McLaren and Mercedes is over, Aabar Investment changes his stake to Mercedes. Regardless of the contract situation, the Brawn F1 cars are already set to drive next year in silver. Some sponsors – like a bookmaker and a brewery – were probably called off, because the businessmen from Abu Dhabi want not stay in association with such companies.
