by Philipp Deppe | 26.Juli 2010
Daimler AG will be setting up a new smart product unit within the Mercedes-Benz Cars division on September 1, 2010. This will enhance the framework for successful expansion of the brand and further development of the product portfolio.
Dr. Annette Winkler, previously Head of Global Business Management & Wholesale Europe, will head the new smart product unit with overall responsibility for the brand. In this function Dr. Winkler will report to Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The focus on the smart brand and the segment-specific orientation will be strengthened by assignment of the relevant functions from Development, Production and Sales to the new unit. At the same time close cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz Development, Production and Sales Divisions will ensure that relevant synergies continue to be consistently utilised.
