The Board of Management of Daimler AG has made the following personnel decisions: Effective October 1, 2009, Peter Alexander Trettin (50) will take over the position of Head of Sales Central/Eastern Europe, Africa & Asia. Trettin has been in charge of the Mercedes-Benz Sales Organization Germany (MBVD) since 2007. In his new position, he will succeed to Dr. Joachim Schmidt (61), who will become Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales and Marketing, including responsibility for the sales companies around the world, as of October 1, 2009.
Also as of October 1, 2009, Trettin will be succeeded by Harald Schuff (53), who has been in charge of the Mercedes-Benz sales and service centers since 2006. Schuff will be responsible for the Mercedes-Benz Sales Organization Germany in addition to the sales and service centers.
Following the successful realignment of the sales and service centers, Daimler will now have one person in charge of the entire sales operation in Germany once again. In their new positions, Trettin and Schuff will report to Dr. Joachim Schmidt.
